Details about the Great Book Race

This year the Great Book Race will be held Thursday, December 4.

Times: GC Students will leave right after school, the contest usually starts at 5:00 p.m. The contest is held at West Middlesex Jr./Sr. High School.  Our bus will return to GCMS about 9 p.m. You will have an opportunity to purchase pizza, salads, subs, and so on there for dinner.

There is no cost to participate.  However, we usually come up with a Team T-Shirt and if you want to have one, you will need to pay for that yourself (usually about $10).

GCMS Teams usually place at the competition!

In December 2013, our GCMS Team: "The Lily Pad" took 3rd place with an overall score of 68.  And, "The Moose Herd" and "The Hawke's Nest" teams each scored 66 - which tied for 4th place.  Keep in mind the winning team scored 76.  So, we were really close!

In 2012, the GCMS Team won first place in the Junior Division.
